My stoop makes me believe that I'm Carrie Bradshaw. Not only because my friends have told me I remind them of her (its mostly the stoop) but because watching the show, those moments of her walking up and down the steps to her apartment actually remind me of my own. One of my favorite feelings right now is either looking out of my windows to see if someone is outside or just leaving in a cute outfit and quickly (and carefully) walking down the steps in heels. So in my mind I'm the 20 something, broke, less annoying and self centered, uptown Carrie Bradshaw.
I know a lot of people have a lot of different opinions about SATC and Carrie Bradshaw herself but for me, Carrie symbolizes great risk, great reward. She moved to NYC with a dollar and a dream, she makes bold and amazing fashion choices, and although I wouldn't consider her the most independent of women, she has her (sort of) feminist moments. I liked Carrie, SJP, and the whole SATC franchise so much more after the first movie and all that came with it. I mean.. is there anything better than the Carrie and Big Vogue spread?
SATC, as most everyone knows, is loosely based on Candace Bushnell and her sex column. The only Candace Bushnell books I've read are The Carrie Diaries and I basically live by a line I read one night in my Indiana home. "
